G'day guys,
I've just converted a 3ft fish tank into an enclosure for my Green Tree Frogs. Approx 1 foot of one side is partitioned off for water & will have a water heater set at 28C.
As I'm new to frog keeping, this will actually be my 1st Winter (Sydney based) in housing them & I'm wondering whether I should add a heat mat/cord to the land side of the enclosure?
The Aust. Frog Keeping books I have go into a lot of detail in setting up heating but then states only necessary if temps drop below 10C for long periods.
(Is "long periods" measured in hours, days, weeks???)
The room the tank is in will be heated, but only at nights when I'm home from work.
So... should I have an additional & constant heat source besides the water heater?
Thanks in advance.
