I've had my Jungle hatchling for just over two weeks now and i have been using a hook to get him out of his click clack (after a week of settling in). I let him climb onto the hook then lift him up and keep my open palm near him and allow him to climb on when he is ready. Is this ok? When should i just try and pick him up?
During the day he is always in his hide so i lift that up and he is coiled there, looking at me. I'm confident he will try to give me a bite if i go straight in (though i could be wrong). I'm not overly concerned about the bite (i kinda want it to happen so i can just get past that and move on) but i'm worried about causing damage to him. If he does bite me, could this set back the progress i have made and make him think he needs to just bite and i will go away?
Today, i got him out and he wasn't at all interested in exploring, he just sat there on the hook looking at me so i think he was stressed a bit and i just put him back.
Any advice on how i should progress would be great.
Thanks all.
