Hi Guys,

I am just about to start breeding my own rodents for food. What do you feed your rodents and why (i want to see the most commonly used brand).

Cheers,

Jordy

I used to use working horse mix but due to the expense I now feed pony pellets. River rena is the brand. I add stuff to it.

Laucke & Mills. Found it better than Barrostoc and less crumbly/dust bits left in the bottom.

left overs is what all my rats used to get assumeing the left overs were suitable if they were not then i would feed them a parrot mix cant remeber brand,

I use 'Gordons' - can be difficult to get your hands on but it is brilliant - they grow fast, have large litters and I find they eat far less of it to achieve the same results...

I use the yrfeed one, i havnt had any problems but couldnt compare it

Be good if you guys put down what sort of price those brands go for.

I generally feed around a 2litre ice cream container of table/scraps fruit/vegies in the morning between 15 rats and then 1/1.5 cups of rat mix in the afternoon the mix consists of (20kg vella cubes,1/2a bag lucerne chaff, 10kgs parrot mix,10kgs horse nuts and 10kg dog food) dunno if this is right or wrong but the local vet thinks i spoil them lol

i use lauke mills.
its cheap, great food, and sits well.
all the rats end up muscley and not fat n obese

Where can i get the "Gordons Rat & Mice pellets"? And roughly how much does it cost?
