Sam, its pine, 3ft longx2.5wx2.5 high one circular vent at the back near floor about 5 or 6 cm across, 3 the same at the back/top on heat side, but 2 closed. stained/sealed,2ft flouro on ceiling at back, 250w ceramic in cage
as heat source. largish water bowl at front on cool side approx 12cm per side triangular and 5cm deep (gravel to 2cm.) Substrate euclyptus mulch, hollow logs branches, fake plants, glass doors.
Thats it.
Originally it was "raw" pine, i thought it might be soaking up moisture but i sealed it, same humidity, then i sealed two of the 3 vents on the hot side, still no change. dont know why!
pic in my gallery.
p.s. also tried waterbowl directly under the heat but it wouldnt budge.
Im sure of the readings, i use a digi hygro and ive put so many new high grade batteries in to make sure its not funny. Also borrowed another hygro, same reading. Go figure. Anyway its fortunate for the shingle.
