Hi Everyone,

Very recently I have just found out that my other half (star of the handy andy threads lol) has been given a prognosis (sp?) of approx 6mths - 1yr or so to live....

Without goin into details he has Cystic Fibrosous and multiple threatening lung infections.

Bascially I have made the decision that he is very important to me and I would rather be a widow than refer to him as guy i fell in love with (and truly think is the one) that died... we have talked about it before and i know his answer will be yes....

So lets not debate on my decision....

My question is..... what is some creative ways to propose.... we cant afford a ring etc.... and all the stuff on the net is sooooo boring, cliche and soppy... i want it to be kinda fun yet meaningful if you know what i mean...:|

Anyone got any ideas???
 
Wow sorry to hear that swing :( that's really sad news
just have a ripper of a time while you can and good luck with the proposal
 
Contact a band/artist that you know thats touring soon (MM?) & they might help you organize something on stage?
Only idea I can think of that isn't soppy and crap.
 
LOL that would be great but he hates MM and hes not coming with me my brother is....

You need to tell us some more info about your man, what does he like? Any sports in particular?
 
A little tacky but how about hiring one of those electronic signs that warn about traffic changes and road works. Put the question on that and have it put up on one of his regular driving routes???

Hmmm hes quite the nerd but in a really cool way..... hes a computer tech, very much the handy man, loves fixing up things and making enclosures, very much into our classic sports cars..... ermmm, really likes steak (great when ur gf is a vego LMAO)......
 
Hire out a really expensive classic car & get one of those little trailor signs you tow with 'WILL YOU MARRY ME' on it :D
 
You must be an incredibly strong person. I have a friend who went through something similar with no regrets. You may think this is soppy, but a picnic, a bottle of champagne and a sunset is easy to plan, meaningful and affordable.

Thanks for that everyone... yeah didnt really think iwould have to deal with this at the age of 20.... i mean we have been living together for a year now and have joint bank account etc etc so we're basically already married.....

I really want something fun and really cheery.... we'll leave all the meaningful stuff for the honeymoon...

Kelly we both have awesome cars if i was gonna do that i would do it with our own car.... but that is thought.... perhaps something to do with our cars...... maybe drive past his work with a marry me trailor on or something....
 
Oh swing that really shook me as my housemate has CF, I'm so sorry to hear that. I don't really have any specific ideas but I always think its lovely when proposals happen when they are doing something the partner enjoys, but is a fairly 'normal' activity so it's totally unexpected, like if he has a particular shop he loves to shop at do it there, or some activity you often do together. That's as far as my creativity extends!
 
Yeah thats the thing with CF.... i mean apart from being a little bit sometimes a bit plae, skinny and coughin they look pretty normal....

I was thinkin maybe putting a collar or something on Dodge that says will you marry mum???

Or putting a banner on the bridge over the water hole we always swim at on weekends (paluma).....

Anyone else help me out??? come on i bet theres some cool stories out there!!!
 
how about on a rolercoaster, bet that isnt done every day
or do like dot art on a snake's scales so it look like it says mary me or something, that would be kinda cool if you could get him to see it.
