I have big male and female bearded dragons , so far there all the same size and 1-3 years old.

if your getting a hatchie you will not be able to tell what it is. they get to about the same size

size isn't the best indication of sex if you have beardies post a pick of there bum bums and someone will be able to tell you or look up on how to tell sex and do it yourself

but generally males are bigger thats doesn't mean you cant get females bigger then males
