Just a quick question, what does everybody use for providing water to their hatchling snakes?
Am thinking of a small ceramic bowl or something similar to a 'shot' glass.

And where can you get these from?

Cheers

I just get small plastic 'condiment'(I guess you'd call them) containers from work, they're free and disposable if they get crapped in.

Like the ones Fish & Chip shops put mayo and tomato sauce etc into?

I think that would be them, sounds about right. You can see one in the background of this photo:

Thanks for that Blackthorn.
Do they tip/spill easily?

Lovely Carinata by the way :)

Thanks, they're cute little things.

I haven't had any of them tip over, they're pretty wide and low, and they're big enough that the weight of the water should hold them down. The hatchlings do like to curl up in them when there's no water though.

Would of had some by now if it wasnt for the Victorian Schedules lol :S

Will visit a few local fish and chip shops tomorrow with my odd proposition of buying a heap of their sauce containers :p

You can also get very small soufle containers (ceramic) from grocery store or cheap shops. They average $2 each and I use them in hatchling enclosures.

you can get little souffle dishes from general all trader. they're about 1.20each and will last forever. I just buy 10-20 at a time. Soon you'll have enough to fill an entire rack with them :) I use the same things for adult snakes just bigger ones.

I can gtet chinese takaway containers in woolies, have a look in your wooloies.

Those wide, shallow terracotta tapas dishes are good, very heavy so don't spill and they stay cool and keep the water cool too.

you want somthing cheap and effective if you have lots of babies, the souffle dishes are good if you want cheaper, theres these button holder type things at spotlight that stack on top of each other it's about 2bucks for a 10stack, thats 10bowls for 2 bucks, they're pretty stong two, and a good size. I know a few people that use them.

haha, i use a little souffle dish too, flat on the bottom and heavy enough to not get spilled! :)

Thanks guys.
Ill look at safeways when im there next.

Thats a great link as well Reptilia
