Hi Guys..... I have a leafy female i got recently and want to add her to my males, but it seems she has some orange mites on her, from what i have read they are quite comon on leaftails but my 2 males don't have them and i dont want to spred them ....

Also i have read that TOD is no good for them.....

Any help would be greatly appreciated.....

Definately do not apply any insecticide of any kind to them. Depending on where they are and the numbers either manually pick them off or if they are in non sensitive areas you can peel them off en masses with a small piece of sticky tape.

Nah, I bought her on licence, she doesnt have alot , but i dont want to spread them....

Buying on licence means nothing. It would be highly unusual for captive bred geckos to be sold with mites-these mites are easy to remove.

sydney leaftails are one of those easy to collect and then sell on species -up there with diamonds and mountain dragons on the suspect list.

Thanx Dan, I knew you would know..... Thanx a bunch.....

True, But i have the sellers details and the details of who they bought her from....

But i guess any reptile you buy could be bogas unless you buy from a reputable breeder.....

Also she's not a hatchy. And I didn't know how to remove them. Couldn't find details on how to no matter how many different seach's i did.

The guy i bought from only bought her for his girlfriend (only had her for two weeks) liked the look of leafy's , but when tryed to handle her she did her screechy thing as they do , then was terrified of her. And the guy before didnt know much about them either.....
