With the recent bite post today I thought I would raise the question why do Python bites bleed so profusely. I mean each time I have been bitten (by my Darwins) there is always heaps of blood (usually instantly) for the relatively insignificant wound.
I have a theory but have no idea if it is...
Thought it would be a good idea to take one of the scubbys upstairs and get a few pics wile I clean them out, it wasn't!

Does anybody know roughly how much is added onto the shed size of a python due to stretching?
My diamond just shed and her skin measured at 5foot 6inches, however she herself looks to be only around 5foot.
Was just curious if there is an average stretching allowance or it depends on the python...
I literally joined hear about a year ago I believe, overflowing with excitment and hoping to get my first reptile as soon as possible. However, I was cautious and waited and researched. Thank god I did because I ran in to a financial disaster a bit afterwards and wouldn't have been able to...
Hey guys,
Lately I have heard of a few people give that vitamin and/or calcium supplements to their snakes.
I was curious to know if this is a common practice and if those who do could post how they go about administering the supplements, what brands, dosage etc
Cheers Josh
For example..
Carpet pythons are breeding with browns and producing cross breeds that look like carpets but have the venom of a brown snake...

My partner has been very good to me, being patient whilst I...

The Port Douglas toddler was playing with a ball in the backyard at around 7.45pm on Monday when his mother lost sight of him...
Hi,
I had fun cobbling a video together this afternoon. I used video footage I took last night with my mobile phone, so please excuse the quality. I'm not all that happy with the music either. It's so much better with the Predator theme, but posting that version would have been breaking...

Hey guy's bought a beautiful little Children's Python the other week, I've let her settle in for a little over a week now but the breeder didn't handle her very much and she is otherwise a little bitey lol. She strikes at everything me, my family and even the Tv lol, I guess i'm just wondering...
Long story cut short. My brother and sister where handling my big Coastal and I was sort of half having a nap on the loungeroom floor. The big guy comes over to say hi to me, snuggles into my side and flops his head down on mine and just relax's for a while. My sister thinks this is very cute...
I am always trying to raise the bar and push the limits on the enclosures previously but it gets harder and harder and the enclosures are getting crazier and crazier.....where will it end. The one I am building for the Ipswich Reptile Expo is certainly ticking all the boxes. It's a standard...
I'm looking at getting a python soon but I have a cat and will be getting another. I was wondering what people think about them living in the same household? I know the snake will be in an enclosure but I'm just looking to find out if others have both snakes and cats and how they kind of coexist?
One of my brothers has a 3yr old scrub python, he has had him for the last yr, he is pushing the 8ft mark now. The previous owner rarely handled this snake, & in the beginning it was very 'aggressive', it literally hated my brother even looking at it! I went around there yesterday to see my...
