Hi all,

Long story short, my daughter has fallen in love with a 9 month old NT childrens. Problem: it won't eat. It is still being force feed. I am after your opinions on whether you think this snake will start eating, or is she getting ready for the hurt locker????

Only thinking. Friends own it (it's their first clutch) and two won't eat, have no interest in the food what so ever.

At 9mo and still needing to be force fed i wouldnt touch it, Most Antaresia will eat on thier
own after some persistance but to go that long and still not feed without intervention its not
a viable option.Dont buy it as it will be trouble.

iam guessing they have the temps right ? either way i wouldnt buy it if i was looking at buying a first snake .

Do not buy it . You will only be asking for trouble , look elsewhere for a well established feeder .

They also have two qld childrens that are feeding on pinky rats. What's everyones opinions on these?

All childreni are great snakes and great first snakes , as long as they are feeding and healthy .

if it's not feeding well for them, I can only imagine that uprooting it into a new home is only going to make matters worse. Sounds like Trouble... you should be able to buy a 4mo with well established feeding responses.

yes your headed for the "hurt locker" if you buy a 9 month old snake who wont eat unassisted usually there are 1 or 2 non feeders from a clutch but nine months is to long

As others have said, it is a really bad idea for a first snake.

I would suggest buying your first from a breeder that can provide a full feeding and shedding history.
