I hope the idiot driver goes a row for what he has done.. including the assult on the gentleman that was interviewd. this is one instance where i truly wished we followed in americas footsteps of ZERO tollerence, the boy would be charged over there with much more serious crimes.
these darlings have not been taught any respect, is all they believe is that society 'owes' them...they believe that you and i , decent hard working (most of us) people can afford to keep replacing the items these darlings choose to entertain themselves with and are sure that the housing comission will clean up and repair their homes after their show of stupidity. .. i belive the authorities should have gone in with rubber bullets and tear gas.. When these trash say there is no work it angers me the most, we are desperate for people out here.. but they have to do physical labour so i guess none of these useless tools will be calling anytime soon.

just another note.. theat little angel whom impaled himself on the fence ... he ran from the police when he saw them because he assumed they were aftwer him and for good reason, he had a warrent out for his arrest for not appearing at court in Walgett NSW (not far from where i live) on an serious assult charge.

I have a friend who was brought up in that suburb. She is now one of the most respectable women, works in a law firm, has the most well behaved children in the world and is just lovely. She no longer lives there, but it just goes to show that there is a choice. They can either get a job and pull themselves out of that place, or can mope around thinking we all owe them.

It drives me mad that I work so hard, someone can come and steal something of mine, and they become the victim in the situation. Absolute garbage.

I reckon all kids that don't have jobs should be put in the armed services for a few years and learn a bit of respect! Obviously the inbred parents aren't teaching them any!

i couldnt agree more but i would go a step further though and make all teenagers.. boys especially do some basic training (yes while still at school!) unless they are working part time..

I don't watch any current affairs programs or even much news.
However one thing that really struck a chord with me was an interview with one of the fathers of the rioters on about day two of the riots.
"I think it's great what's going on here, it'll give the kids something to remember and be proud of for the rest of their lives."
When you have parents saying that they are proud of their kids trying to kill police who had done nothing more that take on a job with the hope of making a diference for the better..... what chance do the kids have?

Nope, but it just might break the lil buggers spirits into showing some respect. And their bank balance will better than what they'd get on the dole. I still say make it harder for them to get the dole, and make penalties harder for crime.

And then, even if there are 1 or 2 that miss the bus, the others are going to drill it into them when they come back from their training. They'll realise what scumbags they used to hang with and will just leave them behind.

I did it myself.

Ive now got a job, a name for myself in the defence, and a medal i am proud to wear on occasions, and most of all, the respect and love from my family.

Its not hard to do at all, and when they do come into the system there isnt many, if any at all, other soldiers of similar ages that will let them be disrespectful and devious as they were on the street, it only takes one reading of the "new liquour act" out the back of the boozer to teach people the ropes. (well, it took me 2 readings) but i was alot better for it.

I am guessing that he means contact counselling as in roughing them up in order to 'counsel' them.
