We have been staying with my parents at their little Caravan Park in the middle of N.T. Over the last 4 days we have found what we believe are hatchling spotted pythons (I'll attach a pic so please correct me if I am wrong) so far we have found 7 (I think? lost count) One was almost white!!

Anyway, the babies we have been taking over the road and releasing into an unused paddock.

But last night we found what the kids called "Big Mama" (of course just assuming she is the Mummy) so today we took her about a km away from the homestead and released her where we know there is water and bush rats/mice etc.

My main question is... Do you think she will just come back?

We are assuming she was living in the wood pile next to the BBQ just outside the back door. Mum is terrified of snakes and convinced she will be back "looking for her babies" (ha ha.. I know) Unfortunately Mum was surprised by one in her kitchen cupboard a few nights ago (a baby) so she is super paranoid!

Also, a not so related question.... Why haven't we seen any browns snakes? We thought they'd be everywhere too. We have only seen one and it was dead after going through 1.5 cycles in the washing machine... no idea how it got there :|

Errgghhh...as usual, this is long winded! :D

Yep Stimson's, Spotteds aren't found in the NT.

Oh wow! Thank you.

The little white fella was super super cranky so was released very quickly! He was being attacked by birds when we found him. Hubby got with in 2 metres of him and he was launching himself at Hubby, mouth wide open..... Pretty sure he was going to eat Hubby ha ha!! It was pretty cute!! Especially considering he was the smallest of them all.

It still had dark markings on it but the lighter part of it was almost white (hubby says more like really light pink) Sorry I took so long to reply, we were travelling home :)
