hey one of my bearded dragon hatchlings took a jump out of my hands last night when i was moving him, he seemed alright them but now i have noticed he is walking around with one of his back legs dragging. what should i do

take him to a reptile veterinarian emediately.

isnt it obvious.

its not sarcasm, it is blatantly obvious.

call them, they have emergency systems and some vets will open for you. call around.

Vets will be open on a Sunday but you will pay more for the consultation. Although I don't know a lot about broken limbs in a bearded dragon, I would assume there isn't a great deal they can do for the poor little thing other than maybe relocating the limb. Little lizards can move quickly as you've just discovered. Try holding their tail gently whenever you're handling them so they can't take a dive out of your hand.

he seems to be not letting the leg drag now, more he has it perked up nearly as much as the other back leg and is moving around but not using the bad leg, is it possible it is a sprain

Maybe it's just a little sore to put his full weight on it.

I often see my guys lying around and they have their back legs splayed out behind them but I've never seen them walk that way.

See how he goes over the next couple of days. I personally wouldn't be rushing off to the vet just yet. Dragons can survive just fine with missing or broken limbs.

Try doing a google search and see if you can find out any information.

If it is broken i doubt there is a lot they could do for it as its a hatchling, the leg would be very small.

Take it to a vet.

It's not the fact that just because the hatchling could survive with it like that, but the fact that it would be in immense pain if broken and should be looked at by a professional.

try mike gannon in wollongong. he maybe open. if not do the ring around. if still no luck check that the leg is alined and taping it with some medical tape that you can buy from a chemist
