hi all,

i have 15 eggs incubated to 58 days now. very happy with the progress as this is my first season incubatjng.

Q.- there are two eggs that are starting to show signs of cracking, with no indication of 'sweating' occurring. is this normal?

cheers

From looking at the photos, they look ok to me, but its hard to make out the crack, whether its the hair like waivy lookng line or not. the first photo looks like a crack along the very end, unless I'm mistaken.

Is anything coming out of the crack - fluid?

How much moisture is in the tub. egg possibly swelling to much putting pressure on the egg from drawing in too much water?

Just monitor regulary. All of mine just before they hatch, the egg will cave in a little, and dint. followed by a small tear/crack where there head comes out.

no fluid from the cracks.
i spray them lightly every third day or so, just eough to keep condensatiopn on the side of the box where the substrate is. no droplets on the lid.

You shouldn't really spray the eggs directly, as it can affect the air transfer with the egg membrane. Rather spray or drop water on the surrounding vermiculite.

I'm no beardie expert, but when I last bred some I just mixed up the vermiculite with water to the correct quantity and never added more water. I had them in a sealed container and just wiped off the condensation from the lid every few days.

What do others do?

i think there's many theory's with beardie eggs. they're quite resiliant, so if it works do it i guess.

I hatched a few eggs that had "popped" during the laying process. They were swollen on one side with a yellow bulge sticking out.
