Evolution happens constantly. It has been happening for hundreds of millions of years, but that doesn't mean there's never noticeable evolution in shorter timeframes. It's often noticeable within a single generation gap. The rate of evolution is not constant.View attachment 331063
And here I was thinking evolution took place over millions of years.
OK I get it. Can it happen quickly in all animals?Evolution happens constantly. It has been happening for hundreds of millions of years, but that doesn't mean there's never noticeable evolution in shorter timeframes. It's often noticeable within a single generation gap. Different species have different potential rates of evolution. It's a complicated topic. Some are virtually prevented from evolving (and these inevitably go extinct when predators, competitors and parasites out evolve them) while others evolve very rapidly and most are in between. Many different factors alter the potential and realised rates of evolution.OK I get it. Can it happen quickly in all animals?
