Has anyone used the night ceramic heat emitter from herpshop? Any pros /cons of ceramics over the red heat globes? Just over wasting money on bulbs that don't last!

Any comments welcome.

Cheers, Anth

I find the ceramics to be really good value for money, with two caveats:

1. Not all sockets fit all brands (my advice would be to buy one bulb and test before buying a stack of them).
2. Some of the cheaper brands are really shoddy and only last a few weeks

After saying that, if you keep herps in your bedroom, the ceramic heat emitters are a must (unless you use heatcords / heatmats), as coloured globes will drive you barmy (especially during winter, when they are on most of the time). In fact, the only real downside is that it can be hard to tell when they have blown.

I use the Herpshop ceramic heat emitters. They last ages, no irritating light at night. No worries. I am considering the panels for future enclosures only because they are cheaper to run.

yeah thats good to hear, im pretty keen to try one out, the black night ceramic heat emitters?

i need to find a decent way to heat an enclosure, just thinking a ceramic might do the trick.

cheers for the replies guys/gals
