yeah, that is why i said in my original post that getting a "perfect" speciman may take years and the "finished product" of a snake cant be judged when they are young due to the colours sometimes brightening and sometimes fading, therefore the need to keep the whole clutches to gain valuable snakes for "proper" breeding programs...
I also stated that genetics are a VERY COMPLEX thing to understand...either way, the more knowledge (or luck) of genetics you have, is still gonna produce better results than some1 with no knowledge of genetics breeding...
Also we both seem to agree that inbreeding is the best/only way to strengthen the traits wanted, but also mention it may strengthen unwanted traits...This is why when you gain a level of satisfaction, you then outbreed a few times to snakes with similar traits you want, but with little/no traits that you dont want to rid them of those bad traits...
I did forget to mention that no matter how much reading/study/research etc one does, we will NEVER no the full knowledge of genetics, cos it is one of those things where weird/wonderful things can happen, and is VER complex...
