So in theory If i seperate them It might improve?

more likely than not, and sooner is better than later.
move the good eater and leave the bad eater in the current enclosure so it doesnt have to settle in somewhere new.

as soon as it hits around 35 degrees they begin to open their mouth to release heat. anything beyond that would be extremely way to hot

Depending on where you live it may be hotter but 35 is too low mate. Do some more research if you don't believe us but I am sure we have enough experience to know that your information is wrong.

dragons "gaping" is totally natural like a dog panting as animals don't sweat, and the 40-45 recommended is the basking site not the overall temperature

DragonLizard said his tank was only 18in so a 2ft fluro fixture would be 2 big to fit, maybe a clip on bulb holder with a uva/uvb globe would be ok in an 18in tank....i do not profess to know anything about Dragon Husbandry but i would assume 2 Beardies in a tank that small would "i think" cause some territory issues wouldn't it ??.............................................................Ron

Thank you all for your help, I was able to make the suggested changes but unfortunately the little dragon passed away sometime during the night...

sorry for your loss mate :(
Hope the other dragon is ok.

The other dragon is doing very well , loves the crickets and the new lighting.

I still would like to get a few more Beardies to sorta replace but nothing really replaces, one eastern and one central but finding them the approximate size so they are less inclined to fight has been difficult .

Sorry for your loss. :(
If you have the time and space, it's better to slowly introduce the new beardie (if you get one) to the other one over several weeks so they are less likely to feel threatened and uncomfortable. I know it's hard though unless you have 2 tanks!
