hi im Isabel
im getting my first snake in a few weeks,
and i know you are supposed to leave it for about a week before you offer it food or handle it, and that you shouldnt handle it for a few days after you give it food.
and i was wondering
are you better off trying to introduce it to handling or food first?
coz i was planning to feed it in a separate container to its enclousure,
any help, opinions???

id personally let it settle offer it a feed then give it a couple of days before handling, although if its your first snake its a nightmare to have to leave it alone for the first week or so!

This is what i do with any hatchie i aquire. I ask when the animal was fed when it has had its last shed, usally the owner hasnt fed the animal for 5 or so days as they know it is getting picked up. When i bring the snake home i put in in its click clack with a hide at both ends make sure temps are right and that night i try a feed, 99% of my new arrivals have had there first feed that same night ,even ones that have been freighted that same day. Then a week later i handle them , NB this is only what i do cheers
