I have what is to be a pair of Blue Tongue lizards... They have been together since Sunday so not long and this morning the "female" is red (from bleeding I assume) from between the back legs & down her tail... The "male" has a few scratch type marks around his head. Would they have been fighting, trying to mate or something else????

I have given her a bath and she has calmed down (normally feisty) and is now back in with the male.
Any idea would be great.....

I was told when I purchased them they are Adults, I cant give an exact age sorry

hard to say, when i use to breeed them, years and years ago, generally the male would bite the females head and shoulders. and sometimes when mating they would cut each other up.
when this is happening, is the male on top of the female with his tale wrapped around hers, can u see them actually mating.

I havent actually seen them doing this... my son said that he has been trying to bite her head whilst he is on the rockunderneath the basking light, she is back in the enclosure so I will keep an eye on them to see what is happening

mine have just finished mateing and he came out of it without a mark but she is pritty beaten up around the head and sholders.

Gerald (male) is pretty active atm which isnt like him... we are keeping an eye on them though

Some pictures of her love bites. We are pritty sure she is preggy she has mood swings and food issues.
