While i've never wanted to breed my beardies, one of my females acts alot different to the others when the male is around,....
While 3 of them stand as still as possible watching his every move and throwing in the occasional respectful armwave, Daisy does continuous pushups, gets into the best position to be seen doing her pushups, follows him while doing more push ups and seeks him out to do push ups for him to the point where she climbed the mesh sunning cage in the front yard so she could do push ups at him thru the bedroom window where he lives.

some days she follows him to the point where he starts backing off, other days hes straight onto her and i take him off.

if shes really keen and i know he is, i think it'd be nice for them to get together for some lovin cos i'm sure theyre both a bit frustrated getting seperated all the time. (obviously they'd only be together fro the mating process, he'd still live in a different room)

so is she acting like a little tart who wants some lovin, or am i reading too much into it?

I think your female is a stalker  You may as well breed them. They are good size and length and old enough, plus you'll get little babies out of it :)

hehe, i think ur right on the stalker part!!! :)

damn babies, they sound like such a hassle!!!

little tart :p

reminds me of a rabbit i had, she had 4 fantasy pregnancy’s then i finally let her have a root

but babies will be so cute you won't care about the extra work

wow, ur rabbit was a tart too,...guess we get em in the human world, so why not in the animal world!! :)

yeah, the babies would be cute,...as long as i can bear to let them go eventually!!!

Hehehe sounds like a similar problem i had here a month or so back with Lucius and Loki.
I ended up putting Loki in with Freddy and and guess what i got...................???
Loki laid 39 eggs but sadly most were duds.
And it looks as if Loki is double clutching too.......yeah bubbas!

i dont understand why your girl would want it the beardies look so vicious when they mate

i dont understand her either Emzie, the other girls look scared, Daisy looks keen as mustard!!

i know she grew up with a boy, (they lived together fro about 18 months, i know the guy who took the boy) and apparently they gave him away cos she was harrassing him so much, then they stopped feeding her so i took her. the other girls never had to deal with males,...so its totally unexplored territory fro them

Kyro (the man) has run at her, done the whole biting thing etc, (only breifly while i ran across teh room to get him off her) so she must know theres no candles, massages and romance,..LOL,..!!

so Loki was acting the same as Daisy then?
did u watch the mating?
and did she seem ok with it?

yikes, 39's a massive clutch!!!
bumma there were so many duds! :(

It seemed brutal to me but then it's all over so quickly. Loki had the odd upset scale but all was good.
It blew me away a bit when she laid, i guessing she proberly had too many, hence all the duds.
Give it a go Chris, Daisy will get what she wants and your boy will be one happy man.

cool, so she didnt lose any spikes then?
hopefully Lokis next clutch will be smaller and fertile!!

yeah, i know its quick and it wont kill her, and if she seems unhappy i'll never do it again,...i've been trying to get my man laid fro ages,..so he will be a super happy boy!!! (and god hes so hot he deserves some lovin,..) :)

Ovulating female Beardy's will try to attract a male, even by aggressive head bobbing (like a male does), though late matings may increase your chances of increased numbers of slugs in the first clutch.

ahh, yes, shes done the headbobbing like him and chased him too,..!!

so this would be a late mating?

Hard to say... but seems she is desperate for some luvin, so maybe so........ I have noticed aggressive "mating" behaviour in a few species of female lizards during the breeding season when males were not present or not interested, like female shinglebacks trying to "mate" with other shingles in their enclosure, both males and females.... when your in the mood, your standards drop I guess ;)
