THIS PIECE OF EQUIPMENT [IMO] IS THE ULTIMATE IN INCUBATION FOR POWER OUTAGES [BLACKOUTS], FOR THOSE NOT FORMILIAR WITH UPS SYSTEMS [UN-INTERUPTED POWER SUPPLY] THESE CONVERT DC [BATTERY POWER] TO AC [TOWN SUPPLY]....SO WHAT YOU DO IS HOOK-UP 12V [PREFERABLY DEEP CYCLE / HEAVY DUTY] TO ONE SIDE OF THESE UNITS AND 240 VOLTS [TOWN POWER] COMES OUT THE OTHER......BUT WITH THIS VERY LATEST MODEL YOU HOOK IT UP PLUS TO YOUR POWER POINT AND THIS MODEL RUNS OFF TOWN PWER UNTIL YOUR BLACK OUT THEN SWITCHES TO BATTER BACK-UP .....THEN WHEN THE POWER COMES BACK ON IT AUTOMATICALLY SWITCHES BACK TO TOWN POWER AND THEN RECHARGES YOUR BATTERIES READY FOR NEXT TIME, THE SWITCH OVER TAKES APPROX. POINT ONE OF A SECOND...THESE ARE ON EBAY FOR $450.00 PLUS YOUR BATTERIES...NOW A FEW PEOPLE ARE GOING TO SAY A GENERATOR IS FINE ...BUT MAYBE NOT IF YOU ARE IN THE BURBS OR AWAY FROM HOME WHILE INCUBATING [60 ODD DAYS]...[IMO] THIS SET-UP WOULD COST APPROX. [6] COASTAL HATCHIES 2-3 WOMA BABIES OR HALF A GREEN [GTP] NOT BAD FOR SOMETHING THAT WILL LAST ......GREAT PIECE OF MIND...NOW I KNOW THIS IS NOT FOR EVERYONE I AM JUST PUTTING IT OUT THERE FOR THOSE UNAWARE...CHEERS SOLAR 17 [BADEN]

I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS!

Goodness me, thank you so much for posting! Your have no idea how long i have been trying to get my little hands on something like this, as i didn't want to rely on a generator that's only good if you're aroudn when the power goes out.

Cheers! :D

so its a hole incubator in itself? or is it something that hooking into an incubator?
either way you make them sound very convincing!
Cheers,
Luke
is just a power supply.
looks good baden if you are slighly tech minded all the components can be bought and assembled for a lot cheaper but even i would just go buy that one.
thanks for the info wil definetaly have that set up when i ever breed.

it's just a UPS. Not whole incubator system.
From what i can see it has a good output capacity. All comes down to how good it works in reality and how stable the AC output is when running off battery.
More info would be good.

How good ???

twenty b....it is pure sine wave and the flow charts are with the add on ebay....cheers solar 17 [baden] :d :d :d

baden. I'm on my phone using the net, can't get ebay. Won't load properly. I.ll check it out when i get home and give you an sparky's they no it.
But a half decent ups is usually a heap more that $450

Best thing since sliced bread, Baden put me on to it some years ago.

i would go and have a look at these machines in person (go out have a look at shops that mya store similiar machines, talk to an expert e.g. Jaycar etc) b4 buying them on ebay...

ebay is so rubbish these days..

From what i'd learnt at uni.. these machines are pretty expensive... $450.. seems peanuts... so do watch out....dont want to buy cheap knockoffs. My 2 cents

I am happy

i purchased one of these approx. 5 years ago and its been faultless and so have my friends that have them.....cheers solar 17 [baden]

These are just a power supply and they aren't meant to replace the normal supply. They have only a limited suply time as they were designed to give computers time to be shut down safely rather than the sudden shut off caused by a black out.

They should be used in conjunction with a generator if you are concerned about lenghty periods of power outage as they will give you time to switch over to the generator.

Power probs !!!!

not quite [jack rabbit] mine runs for [28]hrs [by itself] and they can run a lot longer if you wish...try running a generator in suburbia and see how popular you become....they aren't meant to replace normal power but the rest of what you said is incorrect...cheers solar 17 [baden]...ps and my incubator holds [20] clutches of eggs

Looks like a great gadget for those who need one.

Baden,
Are your greens really only $900? If so can you put me down for a couple.
Cheers
Bob

I think they are a great idea. And after seeing Badens work I will be getting one

just had agood look at the one solar has displayed,
it's a coil transformer, with a basic electronic inverter.
it prodces what is esentialy a square wave output, similar to a pulse thermostat,
so it's not really a pure sine wave,
i wouldn't run a laptop off it for extended hours but for what we intend to use it for it's more than adaquate.

This product gets my tick of approval
and i'll be buying one myself.....
top find baden
