Hi All,

Has anyone used the "Reptile Radiator" for background heat in their enclosures? Can they maintain a suitable gradient in larger cages (and a hotspot of 30c)??

Any takers???

Cheers,

I.V.

It looks like heat cord may be the better option, cheaper and no "burnt smell" that seems to be associated with the Panels.

the radiators are great!!!

they heat so efficiently ive ended up putting shelves in to make a warm section and a cooler section, just to give a better gradient.
(actually, with just the 2 currently in the snake room the whole room is a toasty 22-23C even when all other heat sources are turned off), versus 16-17C in the rest of the house.

dont know about the burnt smell, they have a new smell like any new electic equipment, but its gone within a couple of days,..

i have them in 3 enclosures so far and have 2 waiting to go into the new enclosures this weekend,...

herpshop have them on special this month,...!! :p

Cheers Chris,

As I'm living in a cold climate, these panels may be a better option than the heat cord as I need to establish a good gradient rather than supplying just belly heat.

Hey Chris I'm near Dorrigo and use them (starting to get a bit cold now hey!). I've got them in standard 4ft melamine enclosures and they seem to work pretty good, but I put a basking platform under them as they don't get the nice hot spot on the floor (unless you have a bank where the one in the bottom cage heats the floor of the one above a bit). I have a few brand new in boxes still that I haven't used since I'm downsizing - pm me if you're interested.
