Hey David - glad you found it.... one question though- Did you tell your mother-in-law that it was missing?

Yes I did tell my mother-in-law that it had escaped.

I thought that she would be more helpful in keeping an eye out for the snake and less stressed if she knew that it had done a runner.

All things considered I think she would have been able to handle the situation quite well.
