Well I want to get an ackie.. just gotta convice the folks..
I need some help..

they will read this post so open up and tell them how good and sexy these things are.

IM RELYING ON THE APS COMMUNITY TO GET ME AN ACKIE

I have all that needed. to get one.. just one thing i dont have yet...

Parents on my side.

they love my beardies.. so they like lizards.. just i think the size freeks them out

what the average size.

THE most amazing pets. I can literally sit and watch them cruising around their enclosure for an hour... They are so much fun to watch and are fascinating! And what a feeding response!

They won't get bigger than your beardie, but they will be more active.

wow!! I have never even considered ackies before...EVER...but after looking at those gorgeous photos and videos i think i'm a convert!! Thanks for putting them up, they've definately put a smile on my face. Ben your parents sound pretty cool in that they like your beardies so just give them some time, maybe put some of these pics up around the house! hehe. See if they can tell you speciifc reasons why they dont want you to have one, and then come up with a solution to whatever problem they see. Good luck!

We dont need to convince your parents you do,your the one that is going to care for it.If your parents think your doing a decent job looking after your Beardy you shouldnt have a problem.As with every species being snakes or lizards just do your research on them,find a breeder or someone selling one and go from there,best of luck....

i talked my mum into getting me a snake with school grades.
i failed 9/10 class tests in a row, then asked her "if i do good in my school certificate can i get a snake?"
and she said yeah, coz she just assumed i was gonna fail miserably
so i aced it. now all up i have 5, my brother has 1 and she has 1 of her own. hehe.

Swap the Beardies for an ackie of the same size, and when it grows act really suprised.

The ackies aren't a large monitor. They be lucky to be any bigger than a bearded dragon. And don't call it a goanna. Goanna's are huge animals that run up ppl's legs and have very sharp claws.
