Hey guys i have absolutley great news, my thick tailed geckos layed eggs, found them this morning, i have skool, today but what should i do?I don't want the egg to die straight away??How can i save it quickly?
Thanks,
Chris

Didn't you prepare for the eggs coming? Your gecko would be able to look after the eggs for a while until
you get home.

Yes, but i didn't see that.Oh and mum is going to go around town buying the things i need for an incubator, but there is only one kind of thermostat and its $205 its the only one!So do you think this method will work---------A foam box, which an be obtained from a restaurant or school canteen, an aquarium heater, set to 30-31 degrees celsius - always have a backup in case this one fails, a thermometer (CHECK THE TEMP AT LEAST ONCE A DAY), i used a floating thermometer used in fish tanks, a plastic container, in here goes the mix.
Plus what degrees should i set it at?

I don't use incubators, so I don't know. There's a couple of good threads on here about them, have a search.

i havn't got time to-i got skool

well if you'd done a search in the first place you'd be right. yep do that first incubator you said use some type of vermiculite and if the eggs hatch they hatch...if they dont then you learnt a lesson today.

Well, then what do you want me to do? You should have researched this long before when you realised they were going to be mating.

Dont worry about heating it urgently, it should be fine, just put it somewhere safe. Also you can make an incubator for well under $100, do a search for "cheap incubator" and it should cime up with something.

I just wondering if that way of incubattion was fine for them?A foam box, which an be obtained from a restaurant or school canteen, an aquarium heater, set to 28 degrees celsius - always have a backup in case this one fails, a thermometer (CHECK THE TEMP AT LEAST ONCE A DAY), i used a floating thermometer used in fish tanks, a plastic container, in here goes the mix.

The incubator you describe may work, you just need to make sure the aquarium heater wont cause a fire and that you dont heat the egg container from underneath(this can make water condense on the eggs and lid).
