okay, so I have posted concern over my little spotted juvi not eating before. only now, he's been in hiding in his hide for the past week.

Am I just seeing his "winter" side coming out?...

Samson (my juvi coastal) is also off his food, but plenty friendly. he's taken to curling up on top of his hide, and pretty much just chilling out.

I also have a new addition - Goliath, who's a 2m coastal, and he doesn't move AT ALL... even with his heat on...

there is no sign of poor condition, just lack of appitite...

Is he due for a shed? our Childrens wont eat the week before a shed and will hide until he is done then come out looking for food.

HE ATE!!! THE WAIT IS OVER!!!

However, i have great doubt as to his predatory skills...lol

I saw him out of his hide for the first time in a week. I thought it might be a good time to introduce a meal to him again. So i dangled the mouse, and he did the same thing he always did - go up and have a sniff, then turn the other way... so I ppicked him up. I know I know, a no no, right?? should leave him to settle down?? well, i dangled the mouse in front of him while i held him, and he struck at it and coiled around it!!! so I placed him in his enclosure, but he got scared and let go.... I picked the mouse up again and dangled it, but this time he headbutted it a few times... then pushed it with his head, sat back and opened his mouth. I placed the mouse in his mouth, and he ate it. no constricting.... lazy bugger...

I don't care how he eats it, as long as he eats it...

They all have different personalities. I have even had one that only fed reliably when he was held. Fortunately he grew out of it.
