How can you tell if female bearded dragon has eggs

Hi guys this is my 1st season having a male and female bearded dragon they have been matting not sure if they did before I got them but they have scince ive had them which has been around 3 or 4 weeks so not sure if the female has eggs inside her how big would the eggs be I'm not to sure so thought id ask on here.

She has been scratching in the sand for a few days now do they do that before they are ready to lay the eggs ? Should I get a tub and put some damp sand inside it or is their anything thats better to use then sand , How deep would the sand need to be ?

Any advice and help would be very appreciated thanks

Hi, I am not an expert on beardies, I am just anew owner myself, but I am reading things and trying to absorb as much information as I can from good ole Google!
However, I can try to help you with information I find for you. Maybe we can muddle theough this beardy thing together, I believe that as with keeping pythons, it's not an exacting science, but through help from APS owners who have the experience, and info from the internet, then we shouldn't go too far worng!! (Hopefully!!) LOL

mike83 when she coming up to the final stages you can she the eggs down the sides of her a bit bigger than marballs and she will pig out heaps so let her eat as much as she wants & all the best

I don't think she is ready yet as she is not really fat I put her in a tub with some moist sand but See just wanted to get out but when she is inside her enclosure all she does is scratch the sand then will sit on the log for a bit then back to the scratching is this something the female does a few weeks before she is ready to lay as I don't think she is ready I cant really see any eggs I don't think
