Hi all I was wondering if someone with gecko experience would be able to help me. I have a hatchie gecko about 2 weeks old it's a Occidentalis which I bred. It hasn't eaten on it's own yet I have force feed it twice with baby woodies and I give it a spray of water at least twice a day. It has shed once and that was at about 4-5 days of age.

I'm not sure how to get it to eat on it's own......

i have bred alot of geckos and never had to force feed any of them, they sometimes can take 10 days before they eat with out ay prolems. they will usually catch on, try offering one or two small crickets at night. see how that goes.

ok thanks for that ....how long do you think would be too long with out food? as I would hate to see it starve...

it should start eating now mate, give it a day or two, avoid force feeding if you can.

Make sure you do not put more then one or two food items in to start as hatchies can be scared by their prey to start with. They can take a week or two to absorb the yoke from the egg before they start to eat.
