She's laid in a cardboard box, if I cut it off will it still be ok? I have vermiculite here so can do it as soon as I know. Can i lift the box onto the vermiculite and leave mum on them?
Others can advise you better, but I don't think it will be a good idea to leave mum on the eggs if you're moving the eggs to a vermiculite/water mix. I think the humidity/moisture required to ensure the best result for the eggs will be more than is good for mum's health (risk of RI and scale rot).

Thats what I was thinking, thanks derek, I have an incubator set up so I can move them now. It's heated and waiting.
Fingers crossed.

Good luck to you!!!
Now you have about 6 weeks to prepare for hatching and raising the little ones. Based on what I have read, and the experience my breeder had with my Stimmie before I got it, you may need a range of "tricks" to get the hatchies to feed unassisted. This is a common problem with all of the Antaresia species, I hear.

Just a quick update on my eggs, Ithought they weren't going to make it, but being the eternal optimist, didn't give up, 2 of them are hatching!!
I'm so excited, how long should I wait til I slit the other eggs? Or should I just let them go naturally? Thank you so much to everyone who gave me advice in the beginning.
I'll keep you updated and put up some piccies when they have fully hatched.

personaly i think just gett the humidity, the mother should take care of it..... thats what id do if i didnt have an incubator set up. ps cheek my latest thread, im building an incubabtor now

I ended up making an incubator for them. So I could get the humidity up without endangering mum. They have been in there since 5th Oct. They were laid on the 30th Sept, is it unusual for them to hatch at around 39 days?
