I wish to build an enclosuer for my Coastal Carpet that will last her upto her full size of about 7-9 ft. (she is only just over a year old atm) I'd like peoples oppinions on this enclosure size option...

Base of 1x1 meters and about 1.8 High... it will be built into a corner of a room.

also, does anyone know the average time it takes for them to reach their full size?

i put my bredli (who stay smaller than coastals) in a 120cmX60cmX160high enclosure and hes waaaay happy, so that sounds like a great size to me! :p

The height could be an issue for a little snake but you could make it work by offering many hide boxes, couple of water bowls at different levels, and make sure he spends enough time near his heat so that he will continue to eat and thrive.

I was gonna build a temp shelf as the floor that I can move down as she gets bigger. And yes she loves her hidie holes.

OH also I forgot, I'm feeding her one baby rat a week, is this ok? I'm worried that I might not be feeding her right, I'm pretty sure she's about 13 months old...

what do YOU call a baby rat, does it have hair? IMO it should be on weaner rats, it should leave a nice lump after eating or feed it 10-20% of it's body weight.

if the floor is 1x1mt I think that is to small for a coastal, the lenght should be 1/2 the adult size, height is up to you

the rats have no hair, are about 5-6cm long (excluding tail) and probably about 1.6-2cm thick

Any idea as to the average time it'll take for her to reach her adult size?

you need to start it on rats with hair ASAP. they need the hair to grow and develop the next size up is fuzzys but it you can try a weaner, pinkys are only for starters. Start a new question on size and feeding if you want quicker answers
