So my 7yo Jungle girl gave me a clutch of 15 with no slugs on Dec 9th and took an adult rat a few days later, followed by another a week after that. A week later she took another adult rat and it wasn't until after that I noticed she still hadn't passed a turd. So I didn't feed her for the last 10 days for fear of backing her up till she exploded and hoped with a lot of massaging and warm baths she would open the pipe and let it flow.
Today it happened. Albeit over my shoulder and all over the lounge carpet, she only let one out and I rushed her back into the bathroom (where I was bathing her) to let the rest out, and boy did she try! but gave up as this one was HUGE. and rock hard. So I draped her over my neck again and started to massage gently and when she was ready to push again I helped by giving it a little pressure behind it to push it out (This is probably the weirdest thing I've ever done btw). After about five minutes of what felt like me helping her give birth, out popped out a very large and hard piece of ahem, ****, and even though I could feel more smaller ones in her rectum I thought I'd put her back into her enclosure to finish the job herself.
Five minutes later I went back into the room to check on her and she had bleed what looks like around 10 to 15 mls throughout her enclosure and got me worried. It's stopped bleeding now but should I be taking her to the vet anyway or just let her heal normally? Sorry this is a novel and I know it happens all the time to humans without any implications, just don't know a lot about the healing process of snakes.
