I have a breeding Pair of Beaded dragons they are housed together all the time, i have had them for about 4 years now with no problems.

My male does appear to get rough with the female at mating time but seems just the normal routine, however, my female seems to be favoring one of her front legs and whenever she comes out he tends to grab her on that leg. I assume he has injured her in some way.

My question is, with beadred dragons, do these type of injuries normally sort themselves out or do they normally need attention?

Thanks for any advice

with no problems?
but she has an injured leg?

hmm,...bet she doesnt think its a problem free existence,...

lol, u wont like helpful,...but here it is! :)
try seperating them so the poor girl doesnt get hurt whenever she dares to emerge from hiding,... :p

Please disregard this thread i thought this was a helpful forum i will give it a miss for now on.
i think with your attitude u better give it a miss , should they be seperated YES . because if every time the male see`s the female his grabing it on the injured leg then how is the leg going to get better?. if one animal is hurting another u seperate them before one gets hurt really bad .

Hi, the guys are right though.
Even though they've been housed together for so long, she mustn't be givin' out as much as he'd like so he's getting a bit toey with her.
I can't remember how many clutches she had last yr, but if she's going 3 or more clutches kept inside, if she were mine I'd be giving her a break for a yr to let her calcium build up (but possibly too late now lol)
Re the injury - if there's a visible sore, bathe it in a mild betadine/water solution, couple times a day for a wk or so.
If no visible sore, make sure u keep a good eye on it re swelling, limp worsening.
It is hard sometimes to accept changes need to be made, but in this case I think your beardies are giving u the best indication of that:).
Cheers, Kathy

I'd seperate, you never know what you'll come back to see when you house two reptiles together... especially if you can see one is showing clear dominance.
