Material use for making a wood enclosure

Hey everyone i'm going to build an enclosure from either scratch or from old furniture, but i want to know what to seal it with and whats better a glass or wood floor.

All ideas and advice welcome.

for the bottom i would use a speacial wood its called mallamine, so the **** and wee doesent rott the wood, it also is heat ressistant
 
if your going from scratch go wither mdf or melemine.. reasonable cheap compaired to what youll pay for something... melemine is easy to clean and come in convient lenght 1200, 1500, 1800 or small by either 445 or liek 550 ish
 
ok, cos my bf is thinking of putting 2 tables together, putting sides, top and sliding glass doors onto the tables

easier to use melamine. if you 've got nothing to cut it with, most kitchen places will cut to size pretty cheap. $55 from bunnings will get you four sheets, and $40 will get you a sheet of 6mm glass cut to size. 1200x600mm. hope this helps
