I have a Jungle python sitting on a clutch of eggs. This is the first time I've tried maternal incubation. She is at about day 55 and I was just wondering what she will do and what I should do now she is approaching laying time.

Will she leave the eggs when they begin to hatch or stay on them?

Do I take the hatchies from her as they hatch or just let them all do their own thing in the enclosure?

Will the eggs in the middle of the clump hatch ok or will they need help to get out through the other eggs?

Should I take the eggs from her and finish the incubation artificially?

How many days have people had maternal jungle clutches incubate for?

Any advice appreciated.

if you've gone this far i'd just leave them with her. just collect them up as they come out the egg.

Relax, mum will do a fine job. If you are really worried at all then just remove the mum when you see the first heads pip. Maternal incubation is normally a breeze however I have seen a hatchling accidently suffocated by the coiling mother but this is most probably uncommon.

Its great to see some people still letting the female do her job.The majority of people do artificial incubation so the female has more time to start feeding, and to get back into shape for the following season(Not all do-some will do a year on,year off).Once you see the first little head,i would remove the female and wait for the rest of the clutch to hatch. Please post some photos when you see those little heads..
