I am moving from Rockhampton to Brisbane, about a 8hr trip in the car (because I'll have dogs in the car). I'm thinking of taking my Spotted Python in the car, as I don't have any other way of transporting him. His enclosure will be set up before I arrive in Brisbane. I am just wondering if anyone has any suggestions of how I can make it as comfortable & stress free on Herman as I possibly can. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. THANKS

i would put a folded towel or two underneath the tub to try and help absorb the shocks from our ever so lovely silky smooth roads, and lots a of newspaper inside with hide of course i would use a small container in transporting, also if you want to give some heat for the transport you can goto to the chemist and get heat packs think there like 5 each and they keep heating for upto 8 hrs, there work on chemical base which in return heats but there is no contact with this chemical as its sealed in the package, so its safe for use, but would need to wrap them in a tea towel so there is no direct contact

this is only what i would do, if there any other better ways to transport i would be keen to know for myself for future reference as well

good luck with your move

I would suggest putting your python in a cotton bag, pillow case. in a box with a few sheets of news paper, kind of like a nest and put your spotted in the middle then a few on top bunched not placed. you can also get these little heat pads that heat up when exposed to air, but it's only 8 hours and shouldn't be to bad in there.

i moved from melbourne to sydney in the car and put my stimmi in a pillow case in a click clack on a towel and he arrived safe and sound

my spotted travels well in some aspen bedding and a nice little hide. i wrap the click clack up in a sheet.. she seems ok and not stressed..
