Hi Guys - I may be being paranoid because I have only had my baby Bredli for a week, howeber today is feeding day and I thought he would be super hungry but when I put the velvet mouse in his enclosure he hasn't eaten it and it has been a few hours :( Am I doing anything wrong? I'm sure the temperature is right and I took him out of his hide rock before hand so I'm pretty sure he knows it's there. Any help would be much appreciated.

There are a few things that could done.
Leave him alone for another week, try not to pick him up or disturb him as you have only had him for a week and he may not have settled in as yet.
Try offering him a fuzzie mouse next week that has been well defrosted and make sure its nice and warm but not too hot.
and hold it with some feeding tweezers and he should take it.
If that doesn't work try braining it (put some pin holes into the mouses head and stomach, this make the smell more appealing to the snake).
Im sure once he's settled in he should feed no worries.

A search of this forum would help as well as this topic has been covered plenty of times.

Cheers.

Hi, you can try wave it in front of his face shaking it a bit, um gently tap the pinky on his nose a couple of times, you can get down and dirty and cut the pinky open just a bit to let more scent out. Try them out. he will eventually eat. Hope that helps

Thanks guys - I just got him out of his hide hold and waved the mouse near him and he grabbed it straight away. He's my first snake so I think I was being a little paranoid

Thats good that he's eaten.
Sometimes it takes just some waving of the mouse in front of them. othertimes it can be a bit more difficult.
Good luck with him and all the best.
