as the title says it... my childreni hasn't poo'ed for the last fortnite... even tho his appetite is the same... he has however done wee...

he has been feed 2 pinky mice on both occasions... which was on the 8th of may (fri) & 15th of may (fri) and hasn't poo'ed since ...

is this a cause for worry?? any helpful advice would be appreciated.

thanks

sometimes my little spotted or childrens dont have a lot of erm,... hard chunky bits, and it comes out just liquid. gee that sounds icky. lol. but i dont think its cause to worry, if it still has a good appetite, just see how it goes.
how big/old is the childrens?

i wouldnt be overly worried. have your temps dropped??
try letting it swim around in a warm bath for 15 mins.

Just take your snake out side and gently massage the back halve of your snake and he will go to the loo works every time for me :)

**** hey...obviously not...Maybe you havent noticed, take them outside onto the grass, some reason that seems to get it going...ive got a few pythons that haveny pooed in their enclosures for months, taken them outside, within 5-10 minutes they have gone to the toilet, well trained..

pinkies dont have much of anything in terms of fur and bones so depending on how old he is he might need to go up to fuzzies to get him to poo

thanks mate i'll try that

he is 8months old today and i've had him for 6mths and he has always had a good history of letting out "waste" ha but yea i will try soaking him in warm water kidsheart... i try to maintain a constant temp of 28-31 deg but at nite it does go down to bout 24-25deg...

yea spydalover im upgrading him to fuzzies once the pinkies run out...

thanks all for ur advice... will update u if he ... poos

cheers

Try upping the hot end temperatures to compensate for the cooler night and cool end temperatures. And is the 28C the lower end of the scale for the hot end, or the cool end temperature?

yea 28degs is the lower end of the scale for the hot end.... is that fine?? cool end temp is bout 26-28 degs

yea im also looking into investing in a heat mat... would that offer much help??

the childreni is in a 10litre tub and the tub is placed in the enclosure... it's long enough to provide the cool and warm gradients...

thanks again for all ur advices!

What are you using for a heatsource at the moment? and if he is 8 months old i would up his food to fuzzys or even weaners :)

using heat globe that's it ... waiting for his pinkies to run out (got enough for 2 more feeds) before i upgrade it to fuzzies...

I'd say the cool end is too hot. I prefer giving snakes a large gradient for them to choose. Other wise, we, as keepers, are telling the snake what temperature it has to be at, rather then what it wants (or has) to be at.

However, you'll find that the globe you're using is heating up the internal temperature of the click clack (rather then just the hot end). I used to get this too, until I moved all of my snakes to large enclosures. I even have a young coastal hatchling (four months or so) in a large enclosure, and he does fine. In fact, I find him all over his enclosure, including the cool end on 9C nights.
