I would like to use LEDs for lighting as they last much longer and make no heat, however I don't know if i can just use any. I was looking at using an USB swing arm one and wondered if it would be fine. If possible id like it outside the enclosure too.

That's not alot to go on. If the top is mesh you could use anything really.
