hey all, i've decided to get an olive python and was just wondering if anyone could help me about enclosure set ups, i'm getting a juv and so already have an enclosure size to suite. just wanted to know what people think is a good set up in terms of heat and light, ive got a coastal carpet which is set up with fluro on timer heat lamp on thermostat. would this set up also be fine for the olive or better to go for heat mat? any help would be much appreciated.
also if anyone has some pics of olive setups or olives in general would love to have a look

cheers

How big is the juvie enclosure? Just sit the enclosure on a heat mat or cord wired to a thermostat set at 32 degrees. Also dont worry about a UV as it wont need it

it's 500 x 400 x 450 ive also got another enclosure ready to go but that is 800 x 600 x 600 so thought that might be bit large to start out in, both are wooden with glass front, if these are unsuitable of course its easy to get click clack just not a big fan

500x400x450sounds like it might be fine for a juvie just keepan eye on them and make sure its eating fine in there,if it doesnt it might need a smaller cage.
I use heat globes in allmy ages and they suit fine set at 32c,just turn them off completely when we have hot days near the 40's.
enjoy ur little one and keep the feed up to him as they can eat
