Hey guys,

I'm hopefully going to be picking up a spotted next week! However, I've been having issues withe the enclosure I'm building - I've got 1ftx3ftx2ft to play with (wlh) but don't know how to set it all up. I've got one 4m heatcord (25w), hides and sustrate won't be an issue, but just wondering what the perfect set up would be? Ambience lighting, heating, sticks to curl around...Arg.

And for those wanting to attack me: I've read the care sheets, I've spoken to my father (who's been keeping 40+ years, and have three friends on hand willing to jump in at a moments notice.) But every bit of advice is useful, and there maybe somethng out there I haven't heard yet. (Just like aliens lol)

Is it a display enclosure?

I used to run my heat cord inside the enclosure underneath the hide box, but you may find the snake will spend all its time in there. I'm pretty sure I have photos of the set up, if you want them. Other wise, you can just chuck the heat cord under a sheet of glass (like from a photo frame), then stick the substrate on top. I do this now, and there's no problem. What are you using as the substrate?

If it is a display enclosure, then you can go nuts and do anything you want with it. What you can do is just everything in how you want it, then observe the snake over the period of several weeks (since it'll most likely be hiding for a while). See what the snake climbs on and uses, and what it doesn't. You can then change the enclosure to suit the snake.
