I did a search again for this thread....because of somebody using the Nikon 105mm macro.

I think this will be next on my list of camera things to get ahold of, but don't think I'll ever part with the tamron 90mm either. I've been looking at this lens for a VERY long time, and always been tempted, but it's almost time for me to bite the bullet.

Don't get me wrong, the Tamron will still probably be used for any true macro work, especially when using the extension tubes, but the nikon seems like a much more versatile lens. Especially when it comes to portraiture, and I think it'd be the main wildlife lens that I'd use.

Once I've got the new lens, I'll do the most comprehensive Nikon 105 vs Tamron 90mm review in internet existence ;)

Thanks for the headsup Snowman. Your words have definitely pushed me towards getting the 105 :)
