Hey guys ,has anyone applied for an R2 export permit under the new system in NSW? the old link doesn't work
EDITED : So I eventually found the application page but what a F**k around it is. It keeps telling me the species code is wrong but after being stuffed around again and again it comes up with the same species code arrrrgghghh. A frilled neck dragon is 2221, same as it is in the list. I have this same problem every single time I apply for an export permit. Why are gubberment websites all so F**ked up ?????

Here's another problem with the new system:- I renewed my reptile licence at Services NSW last time but now you can't. The only way to do it is wait till AFTER IT EXPIRES and then pay online. After it expires means you are unlicenced and then they can fine you and confiscate your collection. I don't trust the boofocrats, this is another sneak attack

Was like that a year back when I renewed and I rang and was told it had to be expired before I could renew. They are going slowly thru changes, hence that ridicous online record thing. That is the system they will use before licencing so they get people to sign and give details and numbers, addresses etc. They have finished the protected animal specimens code of practice ,stuffed animals etc, then they moved to birds coded and that got birders jumping about, specially when told they had a transaction limit of 30 movements ,in and out etc . So when they get thru the bird debacle I expect mammals or reptiles are next in line, and when they do all those , they will do the licencing thing $$$ . So from the looks of things going to code is just away of getting everyone's details first , giving little and then going to licence for most .

I'm not a big breeder by any means, I might breed 3 or 4 species a year or maybe none. What about the people who breed dozens each year? Even with the low numbers I might breed it's over 30 hatchies. Do they want to force us into the dark ?

That proposed 30 imit is just proposed for birds, can't say what reptiles would be as it hasn't been put forward yet . It would be simarly low ide estimate. The way it's going they wouldn't get allot of opposition from private keepers as most have been put out of business and that's the agenda, is to have an expansion of dealers The npws have largely been opposed to general hobbyists for years and that's why they make advertising difficult to get rid of back yard breeders , like us !

back yard breeders are the ones who keep these hobbies alive, petshops get most of their stock from people like us. If petshops were the only suppliers it would end up an incestual breed that eventually destroys itself and also destroys the animals we try to keep alive
