If it's a stud wall chances are it won't be able to get to the ceiling, and will remain in lower half of the wall in the space between the studs & noggin. You might be able to hire a remote camera from a hire place (plumbers & other tradies use them) and check out what's inside the wall. If it's your house, I'd just open the section up by removing about 100mm round section of gyprock and hace a look. Easy to repair afterwards...

ahhh clever man im off to see what i can do, the hole was directly under the two taps in laundry for washing machine and sit half way up wall would there be a stud aboe the taps to still stop her from there?I did hear her on taps/pipes..So from there how do i do this idea of yours?

Make sure you do not run the hot water because the pipe will become really hot and may burn your snake.

Slightly random thought, is the mouse hole large enough to slip your camera phone into and take a pic with the flash on (going along with Jamie's idea) you may need to enlarge the hole a touch to get your phone in but this MAY work.

This is what I did when one of mine escaped, there was a hole in the wall from a door handle going through it, I checked everywhere for it with no success. I had to know if it was in there, so I cut out a square of wall and stuck my phone camera in there.

Safe to say the snake wasn't even in there. It was in a chest of drawers and crapped all over my clothes.

Ah, so in the laundry... if it's an older house the wall in a wet area like a laundry may be asbestos, especially if it's tiled (tilers don't usually tile onto gyprock) so you should be a bit careful.

The snake could well be confined in that space, but sometimes plumbers and sparkies cut or drill larger holes than necessary in the framing to their pipework or cabling. If there's a gap larger than the pipes, the snake could possibly get beyond that confined space. Over to you again!

I have heard of people placing a heat mat and a hide near the hole it went in.

Mate, just to give you hope, I found mine just then.
On top of a 2 metre high DVD stand.

try a heat mat with a hide on top near the hole entrance. also if you can get under the house check because i live in an old house and there are holes between the walls that lead under the house and thats how the mice get in.
