I've had my spotted python about 5 weeks. From info I've got on this site, it seems his last shed may not have been a full shed as he had some dryish scales on him.
He again has a section in the middle of his body that is rather dry. hasn't got milky eyes but the rest of his skin is looking very dull & feels dry. I'm just wondering if this means he might be about to shed & if there is anything I can do to help him shed properly & not have a bad shed again...I'm starting to freak out

He is probably about to shed. Just keep the humidity up and it should make him have a proper, full shed.

after there eyes go milky start lightly misting the enclosure, you want to raise the humidity to 70-80% untill he sheds...

I'll try to take a photo...he doent'like posing. lol. Not on camera anyay.
Ok...this is the numbnut question...do I have to buy something to test humidity? I've got thermostat & tempeature gauge.

mm see what you mean, looks a little dry, maybe a light mist every now & then, other than that he looks fine
