Anyone ever heard of tigers in or around the penrith or wollondilly shire area? jase75 or bundybear where have you guys seen em?
You can get tigers around there, especially around some of the creeks etc around Emu Plains and the closer to the Blue Mountains you go.
Very nice Brown, glad you didn't get nipped by it though.
JasonL is very right, up on the Fraser Coast i saw a Brown get run over, it was a dark chocolate colour with a pale yellow belly with the mottled pattern on the belly. I saw a photo of one up here that was almost as red as tomato sauce and another relocated animal that had bands similar to the one above. Stunning animal. I think Richard Shine's book shows a photo of Eastern Browns (babies) that all had different markings and colours with the comment that some will retain the pattern and others don't.
i found a tiger in the quarries in emu plains just at the foot of the blue mountians, dark markings, also found them around the lindan area and sunny corner, the sunny corner specimin was a buautiful black and bright red, try to get a photo up in a minute.
yes to all those places.
a mate lives at emu heights and backs onto the river, the quarries are just down stream.
he's lived there for 20 something years and has only seen RBB's and the odd brown.
didn't believe me that he'd have tigers around........within 30mins of looking around I found one. he's now a bit more careful when he's down the back!
We did a job for Sydney Catchment Authority and I had the pleasure of spending a few days walking around the banks and hill sides of Warragamba Dam.
some very nice tigers up there. But I wouldn't suggest going in there.....the rent a cops in there are now armed.
