I would say mites. It is a way for them to get relief.
yep, i say mites too, sorry to say dude. Get some "Callington - Top of Descent" aircraft insecticide. It is the best stuff to rid them immediately. Won't harm snakes at all. Spray on to clean cloth and wipe down snake, take care around the head though, don't get in eyes, mouth. Normally only young snakes will get mites. when treating the animal use white paper on the floor of enclosure to see the dead mites and eggs. replace paper frequently until all gone

IMO i think thats far from the truth,In 18 odd years ive seen more adults have mites then hatchies-yearlings...Unless you see mites in water dish,DONT TREAT for them..Reptiles in particular can-will do unusual things,sitting in a water bowl will NOT harm the snake,if its constantly in there there may be a problem.
