Exactly what it says, see URS' for sale.
Cant say I agree with the style. Dislike it.
others may differ, so be it.

I have to agree the Peter on this, i think it's unfair for interested buyers not to see what they are bidding against, It just seems like people are going to offer a higher price to try and get the snake.
At least it could be said that $$$ is the current highest offer, doesn't have to say who it's from.

There would be unpleasantness if folk could see who they were bidding against imo. They will eventually let their buy be known anyway if thats their wish, Or you mean what they're bidding for?was there even a pic or feeding info?

I hear the Mystery buyer was Russel Crowe, but he lost the sale when he lost the plot, and threw the phone at a nearby coinceirge !

The first one was a looker! :D

no I think the mystery buyer was the conceirge and Russell was trying to stop him bidding!?

people that live in "guest houses" shouldnt throw "phones"

Fair enough if the people's names aren't put up, but at least the highest $value bidded should be shown, you just don't know what to bid otherwise - you may have no chance because what you have offered isn't the highest (unless they inform you of that but I can't see them doing that with everyone who bids) or you could pay a couple of hundred much higher than you need to. It's a little frustrating.

I bid and it would have been good to see what sort of money was being offered and then I could have bid more. I have no problem with auctions but want to see how it's progressing.

i agree with boa you need to know what your up against and set a time limit on it.

Well yeah I suppose it was but it was obviously going to turn into an auction as people didn't want to show their hand and as 'bidders' we had no idea if we were even in the ballpark.

I don't consider it was an auction? It was a for sale ad asking for offers wasn't it ?

Last time I checked that was what an auction.

I understand they are trying to get the best price for their undisclosed seller but I felt obliged to comment and gauge opinion on the practice. They could I suppose have advertised them for $50k the pair.

No I believe an auction is when you know what other bids are there and you either beat them or you don't. With this people just put up what they were prepared to pay for the animal and either got it or didn't. I did put an offer in but was unlucky. I really don't see anything wrong with this as it is no different to the many for sale ads you see around where there has been a request fore offers rather than a set price.

just to let peope know i rang urs and made an offer which was accepted . i dident go in for an auction i told them the highest price i would pay and that would only be if i got an answer today . im sure most people would say it was to much to pay for a carpet but im more than happy with it. :D now see if who can guess how much i payed

Yes, Afro, thats an auction, and a blind auction is when you dont know the other bids. There are several other forms of auction as well.
and Celticskull, if you paid for what you wanted and are happy then you didnt pay to much.(I hope)
