Spotted Python ate paper towel

Hey guys,
i was just feeding my spotted and i went back to check on it eating and noticed that it was eating the paper towel aswell. I freaked out and hopped on the internet and looked for forums or advice from people with the same problem. no luck. so i rung up the vet she said just look out for anything out of the ordinary. I was just wondering if anyone ha any advice or has experienced the same thing????

Never happened to me, but just keep the fluids up and keep an eye on him.

I think it is most likely he will just pass it.

yeah i am hoping that he will pass it, my sister was reassuring me saying they can break down bones and fur and skin. so i think it can break down some paper towel i was a little bit less light on the situation :S

If it is only a little bit it should pass , as long as it has plenty of liquid to help digestion.

um i didnt eat to much, i cant really say i pulled most of it off the rat

yeah well while it was feeding i refilled its two water things so it definatly has enough water. i hear somewhere that they sometimes like it if you spray the enclosur with water and they drink the little dropplets that stick to the side? i have never really seen it drink though

cant see it being a big problem. just keep an eye on him

the only problem prob would be the dryness of the towel, but sounds like there is plenty of liquid for little guy, so it will probs be fine

ive only ever seen my snakes drink out of there water bowls. you might be thinking of gtps and etbs, alot of them wont go near water bowls and will only drink the water their coils trap from what ive heard. should pass the paper towel no prob i would think.

He has just been hiding out in his warm little hide since, all seems good.

Well at least yours doesn't try eating itself.
my special port mac, thinks its funny to try and take a nibble out of his side while downing a mouse.
(and no its not doing it from pain, I'll post another thread with pics about it when i get home from work)

haha that would be a funny sight probably a bit worrying the first time aswell
