This is my first post here, I'm a complete noob, so any help I could get would be appreciated.
I've officially had my Stimson's python for 6 months, but was looking after him for a friend for a month before that and have also had him before for a few weeks. Anyway he has never actually been dormant while with me, though he has shed earlier this year.
i usually handle him every day, he's very tame and friendly and loves to curl up around my hair and in my hoodies with me. But for the last 2 weeks he's refused to come out of his tank. He's still feeding normally, has the optimum temperature in his terrarium and appears to be healthy and happy, he just doesn't want to be touched.
So has anybody had this same thing happen? Is it normal? Is it a part of being dormant during winter?
